IT'S DU BOIS NOT DEBOIS
DEPT. OF EDUCATION GETS AN F IN HISTORY

Mama always said to pay attention in school. The saying is no different for newly sworn in Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos who after one week in office managed to fulfill many Americans predictions in the worst possible way. DeVos caught a lot of flack on social media after someone on her staff attempted to tweet a quote in honor of Black History Month and misspelled the last name of W.E.B. Du Bois. With many Americans put on edge following the announcement of DeVos’ placement as the head of the Department of Education without any experience in education, it’s safe to say that social justice warriors across the Twitterverse swiftly clapped back.

Betsy DeVos please get the spelling right! This great man's name is W.E.B. Du Bois... not "DeBois." Of course, if you were truly an educator - and had you taken any African American history courses - you would probably know this. How can we truly trust you with our children - our future? We just can't! #betsydevosisnotqualified #shecantspell #shedoesntknowhistory #webdubois
